As part of our partnership with Global Voices and Young Audiences of WNY, we have had the opportunity to work with a few teaching artists in local public schools. Augustina Droze is a mural artist, and created a variety of workshops leading up to a mural she will be creating at the Lorigo building on the West Side. The first workshop had students from P.S. 45 creating "Personal Patterns." They filled in sentences about themselves to come up with ideas for personal symbols (for example, 'I am bright. An example of something bright is a sun'). They used their personal symbols to create patterns, and finished their designs with paint.
